Adding a modern extension to a building is a challenging task. When MU Architecture Studio were commissioned to expand the living space of a private residence located on the second floor of a brick building, the architects came up with the idea to build an extra level. The crib was thus converted into a duplex, by linking the new floor through elegant stairs in glass and wood.
This contemporary home in Montreal, Canada is now brighter and cozier than before. The ground level accommodates the living room , kitchen , dining room and guest bedroom, while the new addition hosts a master bedroom , bathroom and recreation room. Two generously-sized rooftop terraces add up to the recently built apartment, offering a generous area for outdoor relaxation. The jacuzzi is probably the most appealing feature of the newly built terraces, especially installed to gaze at the stars at night.
