Home in Eindhoven With Thin Floating Concrete Eaves Seamlessly Blending With the Surroundings
With an impeccable clean design, House IV is a new project designed to seamlessly blend with the surroundings. House IV, designed by De Bever Architecten in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, was envisioned as a single storey family home, bright, transparent and vivid, composed of the house itself and an extension. Quite impressing when it comes to establishing a connection with the outdoors, House IV gives you this strange feeling that you are very connected to the outdoors. Well, the floor-to-ceiling glass walls replacing the classic walls have a lot to do with this open and bright ambience. The rooms are perceived as rectangular boxes encompassed by glass windows, opening up the living space while welcoming the natural light and warmth inside.
The house itself is relatively small in structure, but the extension solves this (spatial) problem. “The transparent addition to the house is a continuation of an earlier exterior expansion with thin floating concrete eaves. These overhangs give a balanced picture, allowing the spaces seamlessly to blend, and gives the garden an intimate enclosed character.” Inspiring relaxation and comfort, House IV is ideal for a family that loves brightness, transparence and tranquility.
