The Paris-based company Adentro presented Carlo Contin‘s latest work, the NINNA armchair, during Salone del Mobile, in Milan. The exquisite furniture item is simple, yet elegant. It integrates a suspended seat, made of leather straps that hang down. This picture reminds us of the outdoor swings we all had when we were little children. A tribute to innocence and a reflection of the happy carefree times. Those times of joy when nothing seemed more important than laughter. In Italian, “ninnare” means to cradle (to hold gently or protectively). Somehow, NINNA does that. It pampers and it holds you gently.
Crafted by hand, the armchair features simple and natural materials: it’s all about the ash wood and the leather. The output is a beautiful minimalist furniture item. As a consequence, it integrate seamlessly into any home’s design. You can put in in your courtyard/ garden and relax “swinging” surrounded by greenery and lush vegetation or you can find a spot in the intimacy of your loft, open a book and enjoy the ultimate ergonomic experience.
