20 Creative and Inspiring Eclectic-Vintage Room Designs by Timothy Oulton

We ran across a lovely collection of eclectic interiors spiced up with vintage elements by designer Timothy Oulton and thought of sharing them further.Boasting sophistication and creativity, each of the 20 interiors below was developed according to a certain theme. As the designer explains, some of them were inspired by the “Beat” culture of 1950s America, where writers and creative-types championed non-conformity.

As you will look through the photos, you will also discover “a nostalgic tribute to the romantic era of luxurious sea voyages“, in various decorative objects. such as vintage trunks, classic upholstery pieces, and travel memorabilia. The interior below is dedicated to old English sports such as tennis, rugby and sailing and is said to exude “the class and refinement that once defined the world of sports”. We are charmed by the array of great details in this remarkable design portfolio and are looking forward to see which elements caught your attention.

Looks like a Restoration Hardware catalog, but I like it anyway.

The interior design is made with striking touch but gives a feeling of reminisce of the past. The colors emphasizes on a light morning sunshine. While some designs like Vintage Design 9 shows a futuristic mode. Over-all, the designs are satisfying.

I’m an amateur, but to me, eclectic is about cross currents, mixing styles and forming harmonious interiors out of peaces entirely impossible to match but very interesting to mix – not about crowded space with piled up statement items. This is not even creative or inspiring mass, it’s just plane chaos to me. Shame for many great peaces which got lost in this…design. Sorry, just my two cents.
