Away from the hustle of big city life, this imposing new residence rests among agricultural lands of Cornwall, Connecticut. Home to a writer who needed a major lifestyle change, this residence named the Spence House is part of Metcalfe Architecture‘s portfolio. Looking at its wonderful facade, a set of carefully placed windows open the interiors to a powerful connection with the serene landscape. Sustainable materials were combined with a selection of quality furnishings to create an expressive display of the owner’s personality. Thanks to Inhabitat, we get to see just how inspiring this house is – soaring ceilings capture a world of comfort underneath, while the exterior facade gathers green views from all directions with the help of vertical and horizontal windows. The Spence House was intended as a comfortable home in the forest, where surrounding nature and modern design meet in an intimate set of dynamic spaces.
