Cleverly combining functionality and aesthetics, the work of London-based designer Barend Massow Hemmes, of Massow Design, is eye-catching to say the least. His unique and ingenious Hemmesphere lighting designs are the result of the influences he acquired whilst working as an interior designer.

The innovative lights, fixtures and fittings, available from Hemmesphere website, include the Auric Lattice light shades, which are carefully engineered in renewable, laser-cut birch-ply and come pre-assembled in a range of sizes. The limited edition range is an extension of the basic range and features only 1000 products, which are hand finished with unique additions using corroded steel, spun copper, perspex and aluminium.

The lights can be wall or ceiling mounted or can rest on any appropriate surface and give off an intriguing dappled light effect due to the waffle-like build of the shades.

I don’t know how you guys feel about these lights but I fell in love with them as soon as I spotted them. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
