We were truly impressed by this charming small apartment located in a colorful building in Berlin. According to the project developers, “the 53sqm apartment is located in the creative area of Neukölln district. The house was built in the end of 1880 and completely modernized in 2010. During the process the apartment was also renovated. All dry walls were removed. Plumber and electricity were replaced and the bathroom rebuilt. The apartment was designed by Mela & Vanamo interior design agency. The philosophy of the design was to create a white, abstract space with minimal contrast in the fixed setting. The bathroom was designed to have a spa-like atmosphere with big gray tiles by Impronta Ceramiche with one wall layered with Bisazza glass mosaic. The natural stone floor at the shower corner complements the Raindance shower by Hansgrohe. Taps and mixers are by Arne Jacobsen for Vola. The maple worktop was designed by Martti Mela.

The same abstract white appearance of the open kitchen supports the overall white-gray color scheme of the living room and the bedroom. The cooking area in the island helps to create a seamless transition from working in the kitchen to socializing with the guests in the living area. Designed by Teemu Kurkela, Martti Mela and Päivi Meuronen, the kaikuuu01 table in the living area is both loudspeaker and a table. Music from an iPhone can be streamed wirelessly to the table, whose surface produces the sound”. We are looking forward to your opinions regarding the design of this small crib.
