With an exceptional design and use of colours, the Filo Sofa is a modern and elegant piece of furniture, with a playful side. It reminds us of the Filo pastry, but looks rather sophisticated and artistic. With the exposed framework handcrafted from solid oak, the sofa maximizes the visual impact of the combination between wood and layers of material. The designers, Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, simplified the use of colours with the help of different coloured quilts, which offer the comfort and support necessary, but also give the option of alternating the quilts for a quick change of atmosphere: “Rather than being used as a skin for the structure, upholstery has been used in the form of layered quilts to provide comfort.” Produced by manufacturer Cappellini, the incredible layered sofa adds dimension and fun to a room.

Interesting sofa. I like that you can change the colour + presumably you can use the layers to cover you if you’re feeling a little chilly too!
Having recently discovered I’m allergic to dust mites, what I love about this is not just that it looks great, but that if the quilts could be washed about 60C on a regular basis, it might be a sofa option other than the usual recommendation of leather/plastic.
