Hotel Everland was designed by Swiss architects Sabina Lang&Daniel Baumann and stands for a few “capsule” hotels located in spectacular places around the world. In today’s post we would like to present Everland Hotel in Paris, which is in fact a one room hotel with amazing views over the City of Lights. Initially situated on the roof of the Leipzig Gallery of Contemporary Art, the 10 ton “capsule” was moved on the roof of the Paris Palais de Tokyo with the help of a 20 ton crane. Here is more on the concept from the designers: Everland is a Hotel with only one room including a bathroom, a king-size bed and a lounge. The bounteous dimensioned room represents the subjective dream of a hotel: the architecture, the playful details, as well as the request to steal the golden embroidered bath towels. All Everland guests are partaking in the project. All facets are important constituents of the artistic idea: The room can be booked for one night only, the mini-bar is fully stocked and included in the price, breakfast is delivered to the door and a record collection stands at ones disposal. Would you consider renting such an extravagant hotel (room) ?

Speechless
Ahem
Sorry to say so, but this is a tad old news. The Everland was only there until spring 2009. Thereafter it was moved back to Switserland. (see http://www.everland.ch/en/info/). Moreover the last photo is of a temporary restaurant that was operated on top of the Palais de Tokyo after the Everland project.
