For today we decided to showcase this brilliant storing solution from Sophie Mense: a capacious locker concealed in a support column. The incredible “product” consists of two distinct elements, an elegant Cedar wood cabinet and a Carrara marble pedestal which can be moved around in order to access the locker more easily. Here are some of Sophie’s words describing the project: I have chosen to work with a shape that gets absorbed by the space; the column, a constructive element of the house. A column is also a monument to impress, to remember important events that may not be forgotten. The column as a monument and the column as a constructive element are like the equivalent of my Column, but in the size and scale that fits to our interior. Wonderful storage place! This wooden cabinet is very useful to keep daily use things. Showcase looks like a support column. But it has a hidden cabinet which is great and useful.

Showing this in the center of an empty room features the product nicely, but perhaps doesn’t really show how it would/could function in a room design. I mean, it just seems dead silly in the middle of the room.
perhaps it would look ok in a large room with only a few furniture items
So putting an obstructive support column in the middle of the room, breaking up the space, is a good idea? Lol
This excellent and ingenious locker storage is surely made of sturdy wood, making it the most reliable storage solution. It has unique feature in keeping all the stuffs that should be protected. As you see, it can be installed up in the ceiling, thus saving more room space. Drawers and lockers are also featured. What I like most about such storage furniture is its eccentric and tremendous design. Very organic, though.
