It looks like a normal outlet but it holds enough power for 5 different appliances. Relogic has come up with this simple, one touch declutter system for outlets. With one simple push, the Letout Outlet transforms into 5 different outlets. There is no need to have cables all over the house or search for outlet multipliers when you need more than just one power source. The 4 outlets stay safely in the wall compartment until you need to have additional power. With only one push on the top, the Letout Outlet (great name, by the way) reveals the 4 other outlets that are ready to use. It saves time and energy, not to mention that it looks beautifully simple. This would be a great addition to any home so … how many Letout Outlets would you need?

I want it
I wonder whether the designer has thought things through… how do you plug in something without pushing the whole socket-cube in/out?
Hmm:

Thought I’d seen something similar before…
@Bruno Lopes: I want it too
@Jan Erlandsen: must have a system that allows you to do that.
@BSchildt: You are right, it does look like the same idea. The design is different.
*face-palm* designers shouldn’t design power-plugs when they have no electrical engineering background. Enjoy your house fire. Standards were created for a reason…so were surge protectors.
That’s awesome. I’d rather use an outlet multiplier if I needed the sockets for an extended period, but this would be perfect in the bedroom or kitchen, where I occasionally need an extra socket.
BSchildt: Letout Outlet was first: http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/10/art-lebedevs-rozetkus-3d-vs-letout-outlet-fight/
Realthinkingman: product comply with all standards
Cute, but if it’s not UL-listed I’m not putting one in my house.
@realthinkingman: Of course designers should design power-plugs; that doesn’t mean a real electrical engineering can’t *review* it after to ensure it’s safe, and send it back for adjustments if it isn’t.
It’s how _every_ industry works, from architecture to car manufacturing. Designers and engineers collaborate.
But why, do you see any obvious problem with this design? Yes, there could be too much load if you plug in 5 devices at once, but you could remove one or two outlets and it would still be useful.
are we in heaven!
this post is very interesting. no wonder so many people who comment on this post including me. there is indeed a smart person. thanks for the info
