Mountain Home with Increased Comfort in Australia

For those of us traveling to the mountains, accommodation consists in humble but inviting cottages, usually with a rustic feel. This mountain home however took us by surprise with its modern architecture, pool and sauna. The Bowen Mountain house comes from CplusC Architecture and is located in New South Wales, Australia. Meant as a weekend-escape, this home combines the comfort of contemporary living with that of being a part of nature. Here is more information on the construction from the architects: “New and recycled Australian hardwoods were used to frame the steel structure. Soft-toned grey steel used for the dramatically angled roof blends with the muted tones of the surrounding bush. Glass was used extensively throughout the home, with dramatic effect. The structure seems to almost hover over the site and indoor and outdoor spaces merge seamlessly.” Does this not seem like the ultimate weekend refuge?

A very Australian aesthetic, e.g. timbers, corrugated iron.

  • […] Away from rustic style, this home blends with its mountain environment via wood, the colors of the frames, its architectural design and its courtyard but in exceptional furnishing. The woods which are used for this building come in various colors, like the brown walls to the dark exterior floors. The frames which are made of new and recycled Australian hardwoods are colored in the same way, dark which looks natural in this greenery. The home also has courtyards with stones, pebbles, and rustic, worn-out-looking furniture. The furniture, as shown on the fourth pictures looks exceptionally blend in this landscape. The interior design of the home as a whole looks natural and clean without any rustic style. The dark floors look so natural, the staircase looks exceptional while the big plasma TV would add some joys in this home. The architects of CplusC Architecture did not forget to clad the home with glasses, creating a bright home at day and a glowing home at night. The architects also topped the home with metal roof, metal planes are not a natural form but there, they blend nicely with the surrounding. The home design as a whole according to its architects: “The structure seems to almost hover over the site and indoor and outdoor spaces merge seamlessly.” This “Bowen Mountain House” is located in New South Wales, Australia.  via […]
