Freshome Reader Help: Design Ideas for Kiosk

ANNETTE: Please give me some ideas on how to make my frozen yogurt counter stands out from the crowd! I have included my initial idea within the layout plan. As the location of the kiosk is quite hidden, therefore I need ideas on the layout and designs to attract visitors or shoppers attentions. My preferred concept is contemporary, young, simple and minimal. Also, I want to avoid using expensive materials.

    Hey Annette,

The layout I would say is great the way it is but in order to attract customers and make them feel welcomed there should be more counter space across the front of the kiosk. Think of it like a shop with larger doors = more welcoming. I’m assuming the FRZ is a freezer if those can be moved to the back to reclaim that valuable space for a wide continuous counter space along the front.

Other than that, use bold attractive colours like light green and blue, or orange? and a brightly lighted space is always more welcoming especially for yogurt!

    Hope I helped!

Annette, contemporary, Young, Simple and Minimal covers a range from here all the way to the moon!
There are thousands of variation on that theme and with out knowing more about you or your company, it is impossible for a designer to create something that say something unique about you! You NEED to start with something simple, do you have logo? If not then that’s what you need ASAP!
With a logo you’ll have a color palate, which a decent place to start. Then I would say: Start with table and chairs, you want to keep a low budget so your choice is limited. Find a Chair and table combo you like and use it as your Design Totem to guide the rest.
