Even though more and more sustainable projects are being built lately, we didn’t see this coming: you are looking at the first London sky-scraper to have wind turbines. Nicknamed “The Razor”, this incredible structure is located in a part of London called Elephant and Castle (thanks for pointing out the location, Clint) and measures 148 meters. The official name of the project is “Strata SE! Tower”, a building equipped with three wind turbines, that will ensure 8% of the structure’s total energy consumption. Here are some words from the official website: “Strata SE1 comprises a £113.5 million investment in the area by Brookfield Europe and will provide 408 high quality apartments in two prestigious architecturally distinguished buildings, the Tower and the Pavilion, both with space for shops and restaurants below.” Do you believe this is a revolutionary building?- via Inhabitat

you will find that the Bahrain world trade center has had these turbines for quite some time.so pretty lazy research,is going on here….
Not the first one. There is a sky scaper in Dubai have wind turbine. Anyway its an awesome implementation to our earth. Its pricey but we need more that kind of projects.
I go past this on the train every day and it is quite beautiful. It is in a REALLY ugly part of London called Elephant and Castle so it sticks out a bit, but it catches the light beautifully.
clint i agree with you..i still think it’s in the wrong part of london regardless of the regenration the area is going through…
Great project, but aren’t those turbines damn loud for the people inside (and outside) the building?
Very lazy research indeed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bahrain_World_Trade_Center have a read it might educate you.
