The Cullen House from Twilight – The Hoke House

A few months ago everybody was crazy about a movie called Twilight. Twilight is a love story movie between a human and a vampire. They’re modern vampires and live in a modern house. Usually I don’t speak about architecture in the movies here on Freshome, but when I saw the movie I really liked that house, and that’s why I’ve decided to post it today. The Hoke House was designed by architect Jeff Kovel via ‘Skylab Architecture’ it’s 4300 squares, built by Metcalf Construction, with Lucy Metcalf as the interior designer and landscaper. The house was designed for Nike executive John Hoke and his family and appeared in the film Twilight.  Hoke really liked the idea of his house being used as the home to a family of sophisticated vampires and allowed filming to proceed in both the interiors and exteriors. Because of his profession, members of the production team dubbed the structure the “Nike House.” The Cullen house is supposedly located just outside of Forks, WA- Via – DesignTavern

i am in love how this home sits. like a giant jagged boulder on the cliff, but lit up! and all of that beautiful vast space full of sunlight and air inside, just stunning. i especially love that big light that arcs up and over the white couch, to light up the whole area and acts as a standing chandelier. a fun conversation piece :)

This home is a most beautiful piece of ART-citecture. Absolutely love the long narrow, horizontal window above the sofa that showcases the boulder work as natural artwork.

Problem is, this house is nothing like what you picture as the Cllen residence in the books. It’s a cool pad and all that, but I think that it’s out of place in the films.

    Completely Agreed with Jonathan…

The house is good looking and cool… But not at all like described in the Book.

this house is amazing as soon as i saw it in twilight i just fell in love with it and not because of the movie it is in! the houses location is also just beautiful i wish i has a house like that it is just so light and i love the forest so having a house like that in the forest with so many windows would be so cool that house is truly a piece of art and i am sure it has the price tag of one too!

you wouldn’t believe how many people think the movie is real because of my last name!

WELL I AM CLEARLY NOT THE ONLY PERSON WHO FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS HOUSE…

FIRST SAW THE HOUSE ON A LINK ON THE DISCUSSION BOARD – WHICH HAD BEEN POSTED BY SOMEONE’S WIFE (YOURS I PRESUME…LOL)

OKAY SO THE ASKING PRICE … UNDERSTANDABLE IT NOW HAS A HISTORY FEW HOUSES CAN LIVE UP TOO

BUT SERIOUSLY THE AMBIANCE THAT EMITS FROM YOUR HOUSE IS SOOO PEACEFUL, YET IT IS SOO OPEN TO THE OUTSIDE ELEMENTS: IS IT ALSO ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY ?

WAT IS THE COST TO HEAT ONE OF THESE BEAUTIES ( & YES IM ONLY MORTAL AND THEREFORE PRONE TO THE ODD ACHE AND PAIN…LOL)

CONGRATS ON A BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURAL HOUSE!!! DEFINITELY A 10/10

ACTUALLY REMINDS ME OF A LLOYD-WRIGHT VERSION FOR THE 21ST CENTURY (?)
