Designed by Nunatak Architectes, this amazingly unique house is located in a picturesque valley of Switzerland. Inspired by a mountain, this house is like a huge inclined block – sloping roofs epitomize mountain slopes and the lovely grey color of the house blends in perfectly with the hilly terrain. The most interesting thing is that some walls are made of simple stones that simply gives the entire house a more “eco-friendly” feel. A must-have for those who are looking for a quite getaway from the hectic city life. Isn’t it?

ALPINE VISTAS! Sunken block Home is situated perfectly within the mountains of Switzerland. The home echoes the landscape behind with its lines and colors. Check out that hardwood ceiling! The heartwood tongue and groove pattern lends itself to the soft nature if the interior design.

From Page: “This unique house in Switzerland was inspired by the mountain which dominates the site at the north. Material, form and color were the only source of design inspiration. The house is a block placed inclined to the ground. The slopping sides of the roof imitate east and west flanks of the mountain. Even though the house frame is made of wood it is painted in gray color which is very similar to natural stone color. The color is the thing that contrasts to surround vineyards the most. The interior is done in very simple but natural style. Some walls are made of almost raw stone what in addition to wooden insertions create comfortable environment. The house is designed by Nunatak Architectes.”
