Lord of the Rings Residence in Barbados

If it wouldn’t have been built in 1975 (long before the movie itself), some would probably argue that this 3,500-square-foot multilevel home by Ian Morrison on top of a hill in Barbados, is definitely inspired by the Lord of the Rings movie. Built in a stunning setting with soothing interiors that seem to be brimming with green life, the house brings a relaxing atmosphere that you can “almost” feel. Scoring very high on coziness, it’s the pool and the pristine white interiors that got us sold on the design. Looks far too alluring to take a pass on if you can afford it. – via

Very nice, although it may have been inspired by the LotR books…

I love it! It is nothing like the contemporary, cold and square building. You can feel the real life, the nature and to see the world from different angle. It is just idealistic.

Obviously, they are all photshopped scenes from the movie. No house like that exists.

    DEAR SIR,
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO CONFIRM THAT THIS HOUSE DOES EXIST AND MY VERY DEAR FRIEND BUILT THE HOUSE AND LIVES IN IT. YES IT IS FOR REAL AND IT IS GORGEOUS. MARY P.

    Dear Rob,

It is actually my mother’s house. Nothing photoshopped at all. All the photos are exactly how it is.
It is truly a remarkable piece of work by my Father – Ian Morrison.
A real ‘one of a kind’. Built totally with nature in mind.

Sophie – Ian Morrison was killed in the Korean War. There is no way he built this house. Obviously, the entire Adobe Master Suite was used to create all of these fake photos of a house that does not exist.

This is probably the most beautiful house my family and I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We have such wonderful memories of this magical home which really does exist and belongs to one of my oldest friends, who has nurtured and looked after it with love. The photos are great but it needs to be seen to be believed!!
