I always knew those Brits are wicked, but not like that. Apparently on Swain’s Lane in London, there’s a glass looking house designed by London-based architects Eldridge Smerin, which has a great view, (prepare!!!) over a cemetery. Other than the fact that there are dead people in the area the four-storey house is extremely modern with large windows and doors made of glass to enhance space. Built on the footprint of the original 1970 house, it has two facadase. One is overlooking the cemetery and is mostly glazed while the other one is made of black granite, translucent glass and black steel panels, and overlooks the street. Looks extremely fancy but I’m not sure if I’d be able to live there. Would you? – via Dezeen

Latest Seoul Major Tourist Attraction : Banpo Bridge

Just a twist of design, a splattering of paint, a cheeky addition to something old can make it look brightly cheerful and attractive to the eyes again. The Banpo Bridge which crosses over the Han River in the Seoul capital of Korea has been given new life with the addition of a very interesting fountain, that was specially designed to attract more tourists. Instead of remodeling this huge structure to fit it with the usual design of a fountain, even that has been give some change, with the fountain shooting water downwards instead of up.

The fountains at the Banpo Bridge were installed on September ninth and have since become a major tourist attraction. It has nearly 10 thousand nozzles ( more exactly 9, 380 ) on either side of the bridge that shoots out 190 tons of water every minute. According to the Seoul mayor, Oh Se-Hoon, the fountain bridge would help acknowledge Seoul as an eco-friendly destination amassing more tourists. But unless the fountain is being used as a means of harnessing energy, the eco-friendliness of this fountain is skeptical.

Halloween Decor : Noose Hanging Lamp

This noose shaped hanging lamp designed by Marie Thurnauer is both cool and disturbing. It might be an innovative way to light up a room, but on the other hand it is morbid and it could be used as a Halloween decor object. Now the bad news is that if you want this simple idea for this Halloween the price is 4750.00 €, very high for 135-centimeters of illuminated cord. – Via

Grandbazaar Sofa by Maybe Design

The Grandbazaar Sofa is an authentic oriental product, designed by the Turkish design brand Maybe Design and featured at the recent Vienna Design Week. I don’t know why they labeled this product a sofa, because it looks more like a flying carpet or like a bench. Although it looks fragile, it can apparently carry very heavy weights.

X-Ray Lights by Won-Suk Cho

Korean Designer Won-suk Cho’s unusual lighting design has won rave reviews. Who would have thought that the “skeletal” forms of bare bulbs or a fluorescent lamp could be almost like works of art? His lamp cum lampshade look like a thick x-ray plate with an illuminated lamp bulb shape complete with the lit up inner workings of the lamp.  His X-Ray lights look particularly striking when placed in a group. The X-Ray lights were on display at the Seoul Young Designers Pavilion during the 2008 London Designers Block. – Via
