Usually, the visual factor gets me when a piece of furniture is beautiful, but I always thought of the photographer that brings in those stunning images. Who are those people behind the modern or classy interiors we see each day? One of them is Rachael Smith – a London-based freelance photographer specializing in interiors, still life and portraits. I’ve just looked over her pictures and I’m amazed how she manages to come out with the best views and how she puts forward the best in them. Check out the Swedish summerhouse, Eero Aarnio’s home, the South London Home, the Ladbroke Grove home or the Bedo Sperlein, and tell me if that isn’t great inspiration! Don’t forget to check her website out. – via Momoy

Bought a new bed recently? Or a new living room set? You may have noticed that beds are not made of the same standard height nor are sofas. It’s so annoying then to have to get brand new sides when the old ones are still perfectly fine. You won’t have this problem though if you had bought the Panier tables. Several of them in your house will give you great flexibility in table heights as you can stack any number of them. A whole tower of these in a corner will not only store them neatly but they will have a pleasing effect on your decor.
The French design team Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec designed these modular tables. Each is only 9″ high and the diameter is 24″. The translucent colours and shine of the polycarbonate tables will suit a contemporary decor. The tops lift off which means the tables function also as storage units. The Panier is available from Hive. – Via

Plants add a warm touch to any home. However, in order for them to thrive, most plants do need a fair amount of sunshine. This robotic plant pot holder will help keep the plant happy by moving with the plant as the sunlight from the window shifts as the day progresses. This prototype “solar seeking botanical augmentation” robot’s four wooden jointed limbs allow it to move. The novel invention is the work of Play Coalition.
The robot plant holder, if it ever became commercially available, will surely be a great conversation piece. It’ll also entertain your house cat! – Via

Designers from N55 in Copenhagen, Denmark come up with this idea that I think is quite stupid. The idea is called the Walking House, and they say it provides a solution to the problem of rising water levels as the house can simply walk away from floods. Now when I’ve saw that the six legs attached to the frame of this house enable it to move at a maximum speed of 60 meters per hour, I was convinced that this is a really stupid idea, and a caravan is 100 times better than the Walking House. What do you think ?
Here are a few words about this project from the designers : “WALKING HOUSE is a modular dwelling system that enables persons to live a peaceful nomadic life, moving slowly through the landscape or cityscape with minimal impact on the environment. It collects energy from its surroundings using solar cells and small windmills. There is a system for collecting rain water and a system for solar heated hot water. A small greenhouse unit can be added to the basic living module, to provide a substantial part of the food needed by the Inhabitants. A composting toilet system allows sewage produced by the inhabitants to be disposed of. A small wood burning stove could be added to provide CO2 neutral heating. WALKING HOUSE forms various sizes of communities or WALKING VILLAGES when more units are added together. WALKING HOUSE is not dependent on existing infrastructure like roads, but moves on all sorts of terrain.” – Via – Dailymail
And finally here is a video with the Walking House moving for those of you who are curious.

After last week we presented a Bedroom Designs and Room Ideas for Modern Teens today here is another inspirational post with bedroom ideas. Today theme is modern and minimalist bedrooms. This look usually has a mixture of simple furniture and those out-of-this-world artistically designed pieces. In modern bedrooms, the bed is usually the one that stands out. The modern style usually makes of platform beds. This kind of bed is the newest rage in bedroom design. The minimalist approach to bedroom interior design is all about clearing the clutter and reducing the elements of bedroom down to the bare essentials whilst at the same time retaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance in a room.
