Mind Blowing 19th Century Terrace House in Sydney

Paddington is an ever trendy inner-city, an eastern suburb of Sydney, where this amazing 19th century terrace house was found. We’re not sure if it’s for sale but if you plan on buying a property in Sydney why wouldn’t you check that out. The narrow property combines a modern traditional exterior with a stunning high class interior that values space, the most. Every level has a terrace of its own and if the interior space seems crowded, you can always get a quick fresh air breathe. However, the most stunning thing is the “open-bedroom” that also has its own terrace. That’s another house I’ll put on dream list. – via DesireToInspire

Dual Purpose Bedside Lamp

Share |

At the end of a hard day, many of us like to empty our pockets full of change, keys and so on and put them on our bedside table. Getting ready for bed also means taking off glasses and watches. All that detritus usually forms an unsightly heap and the chances of one of them falling off the table is also pretty high. So LifeGoods’ dual purpose bedside lamp takes care of all that clutter.  It is both a catch-all storage and a lighting solution for the bedroom.

Five Steps to Making Your Home More Beautiful

Most of us have watched those cruel home make-over shows at one time or another. You know the type, where a hyperactive bunch of designers and tradesman bombard their way into an ‘unsuspecting’ civilian’s home, with only an hour to complete a WOW transformation. The magic designer snatches up a few old cushions, whips up the rug, and hey presto, the whole house is a wonderful palace. Don’t we all wish that our tired houses could be awoken with such hasty and invigorating fervour? I’m not promising to make your home your dream mansion, but by following the simple steps below you can bring beauty into your house.

De-Clutter

1 6 Five Steps to Making Your Home More Beautiful

This step sounds so exhausting, but believe me, it’s worth it. Pick a room to start on, and attack it with a pair of rubber gloves and a bin bag. Poke into hidey holes you’d forgotten about, delve into cupboards you’ve been putting off forever, jump right in to the depths of all your clutter and let it go. Don’t be afraid to chuck out that gaudy yellow vase because you made it when you were six, if it’s sentimentally valuable, box it, be strict with yourself about what really is sentimental. Use ‘time since last used’ as your rule of thumb, if it’s been three years since you last used it, chances are its rubbish.

Remember, start as you mean to go on- don’t sort piles into piles, if its rubbish throw it, if it’s not, put it away. Consider recycling any items you don’t need, charities are always looking for items they can sell on. You could also try to make a few pennies out of your old stuff, pop it onto eBay and see what happens!

1964 House For Sale in London

Share |

Though looking at the interior picture it doesn’t look like a house built in 1964, that’s when the renowned architect Neave Brown built it. Part of a five houses terrace in Dartmouth Park, London, where the community means everything, the three-storey building has two bedrooms – one of them with direct access to the gardens, a shower room and a utility room at the ground floor. On the first floor there is an entrance hall, a bathroom, an 8 sqm terrace with a view over the gardens and newly installed kitchen. There’s also the second floor with a master bedroom and a 19 ft reception that offers a stunning view over the outside gardens.

The think that doesn’t attract me very much is the staircase. Is it just me or that thing is so tight that you should have more than two glasses of wine? However the most stunning thing is the way this house blends with the outside scenery. Everything is natural and well contrasted. The new owners of the house had worked with engineering firm Max Fordham to get the new systems up so that they don’t ruin the original design. Located on Winscombe Street in London, the house is for sale for £925,000.

Vivendelstien House in Norway

If you were to ask me what my dream home would look like, the answer would be modern, minimalist, with lots of space and with a nice view over the beach or maybe over the woods. I’m not sure if the Vivendelstien house in Norway is close to a beach or a mountain but I do know it’s close to what I would expect when it comes to interior design.

Designed by Norwegian architect Tommie Wilhelmsen this house won’t impress you with its exterior, but will do it as soon as you enter the front door with its interior. A warm “gigantic” living space that puts the white in contrast with little things like the ottomans, the colorful pillows, the couch or the relaxing looking chairs. If you ask me, the guy managed to get the best harmony possible.
