We have featured skateboard furniture before but the Deckstool is different. The stools are made from old skateboards which otherwise would have gone to the landfills. Jason Podlaski (US) has transformed what were once battered and scarred street toys into trendy furniture. The scratched deck designs have given his stools an aged look - in a good way.
The designer got his idea when his brother asked him to convert a pile of broken skateboards into furniture. Podlaski noticed that the majority of the skateboards broke just at one end. About a quarter of the decks broke in half. So he used the long pieces to form the legs of the stool and the half decks became the seats. The Deckstool is ideal for bedrooms, dorm rooms and apartments. - Via

They’re cool and would like really nice in a student’s room. Don’t look too comfy though.
A two-seater sofa made out of boards could work. Have two boards longways to make up the main seating bit - the ends that curve upwards would meet nicely in the middle.
I saw this stool at the Philly Heart Design show in October. It’s comfortable to sit on and I know because I tested it out.
