Baumhauser : Amazing Prefab Treehouses by Baumraum

Baumhauser : Amazing Prefab Treehouses by Baumraum

Here’s a good question. What you get when an architect, a landscape architect, an arbologist, and a craftsman get together and work on something new? An amazing prefab treehouses dubbed Baumhauser. Of course that’s not the only thing they can come up with, but some guys in Germany did it.

These modern natural tree houses may be the solution to the whole economic system we’re going through these days. Yes, we could start living in trees and that’s because Baumraum designed the Baumhauser with treespaces that can be outfitted with “sitting and sleeping benches, storage spaces, a mini-kitchen, heating, glass windows, lighting, as well as a sound system for multimedia”.

Built from larch and Douglas pine it can virtually be put in every tree out there. Is that the coolest treehouse you’ve ever seen? – via Gliving

Cool concept, I rather like it. Only issue is as most of the U.S. has been logged and replaced with really poor and thin trees, they wouldn’t be able to support these.

Other than that, I want one ;) Err…provided it is not in a tornado state :x

While they are probably not going to take the world by storm, they look classy and would be cool, for at least the first few weeks? A few things that may cause concern – trees breaking under duress / weather, security and safety. Cool concept though :)

My neighbor’s tree house was nothing like that. All I remember is getting a whole bunch of splinters.

I love this! Would be a great boutique hotel idea… I would pay money to stay for a while. I love that these are prefab too, makes them a bit more attainable…

Amazing isn’t awesome enough for this! I am sure you could put it near a tree with a stabalizing support system, cement and metal. Maybe forget the tree altogether. Anyway you put it…it is amazing. I liked the post about a hotel. I too would pay to stay in a tree house. Sounds like a good business… get several out near a quiet lake…make a summer camp even. OOOOooo, isn’t it great how inspiration can move you?!

Thank you for the mental feast.
