The new Cristalli glass tub from Novellini is something really modern, with a clean and minimalistic look. From the Elysium collection, the tub is European design for chic, city-living types with an eye for the newest trends. Some people might say that this bathtub is not something for their bathroom, because it’s fully transparent and this might be an intimacy problem. Anyway for those people who can ignore this minor “problem” this bathtub is a great solution for those times when you really need a moment of relaxation. – Via

For the last 10 minutes, I’ve been staring at this house and I still don’t get it. Why would someone in Japan get the Tokyo-based architects Torafu to design a family home that looks like that? And yes, I’m talking about that weird shaped roof. Aside for the common qualities which include cover from rain and letting light get in, on the interior it’s used as a moderate separator. Located in a quiet residential region on the hilltop suburb of Kohoku, in Yokohama, this modern/weird house is no more than 3 meters in width and is made completely out of cast concrete.

The happy owners, are a couple that wanted Torafu to design a small (one-story) but sunshiny house. That’s why the roof looks the way it does. All these pictures make me think how comfortable is this simple living arrangement (that looks like some sort of bunker) because I’m not yet seduced. Are you? – via Dezeen

Remember the Nature v2.01 Chair by Draw me a sheep posted recently? Well, here are Log Bowls to match! The rustic exterior of real bark is sharply contrasted by the sleek, modern and glossy interiors. The bowls come in several vibrant colors and look really cool when several are grouped together.

The real log cut-offs were handmade using only reclaimed trees i.e. trees were not deliberately cut down to make the bowls. Rather, fallen trees or trees which had to removed for building, landscaping and so forth, were the source of the raw material. Each hand made bowl was finished with a water-based and furniture grade acrylic paint finish. The designer is Doha Chebib from the Loyal Loot Collective which is based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Just on the other side of the Melbourne Club at the eastern end of the central business district, the Monaco House in Melbourne was designed by McBride Charles Ryan architects for the Honorary Consul of Monaco. Meant to make you stop by, stare for a few seconds and to intrigue, the four storeys high building has a 101 square meters footprint and all a cafe, consular activity, offices, meeting areas and a rooftop garden.

The facade looks to be a geometric game where the architects used all sorts of eye-catching surface textures to make it generously expressive. I think it stands out from all the other buildings on the street. -via KostasVoyatzis
