With the icebergs melting and the oceans water levels increasing I’d sure be interested in living in a floating house. Architect Robert Harvey Oshatz has done his best to design this modern Fennell House.

Completed in 2004 the spectacular wooden house features a facade that resembles with the shapes and curves of a river and even though it looks perfect to spend a sunset with your loved-one, you’ll have to agree it has a big party potential. How about some margaritas and some good music with a bunch of friends?

Inside there’s a big living room with a bar while in the back, there’s the oft-level master bedroom. Simple and beautiful at the same time, don’t you think?

You cannot get any more architectural than the System 45 Lighting. It’s so sleek and simple. The light head can be angled in three different ways – vertically, horizontally or angled – to get three different light diffusions. Several of them together make a great artistic garden, patio or pool deck installation.

Each light is equipped with a 24W fluorescent bulb and are available in aluminum, black and teak. The teak veneer can be maintained with teak oil or left to patina to a silvery color. Be warned though, elegance costs. The Italian made System 45-71 inch typically costs from $1,384.00 – $2,168.00 . You can purchase the lighting from here. – Via

Nothing can beat a garden swing for total relaxation on a hot summer’s day. Even better if the garden swing was one of the fabulously magical swings from Fletcher & Myburgh of Hampshire, England. Their sculptured swings are the ultimate hang-outs both indoors and outdoors.

Their pod loungers really evoke fairy tales with designs like the Pumpkin, Jasmin and the Moon swings. Their swings are mainly created using recycled copper which will patina with time. Also notable are their bubble swings which are made from stainless steel circles. The husband and wife team share a passion for art and nature which shows in their usable art installations.

What do you do when your garden hose leaks? Throw it away? Well, one designer who didn’t was Chase DeForest. The designer has created a collection called Hosewares where garden hose has been re-purposed into furniture. She uses the hose in place of wicker in a most novel way. Her pieces are quirky, fun and definitely environmentally friendly.

Deforest grew up on a farm, trained as a sculptor and worked as a furniture designer. She is a long time basket maker and avid gardener. She started making hose baskets years ago. If you take a closer look, you will notice she ties them together with plastic ties. Besides patio chairs, her line has now expanded to even pet beds. She won the 2008 Emerging Artist grant from the American Craft Council. – Via

Turn your backyard an oasis with the Yin & Yang collection by Kenneth Cobonpue. These pieces are sure to bring a sense of Zen living to your home. The intricate weaving of the frame can be seen in sofa, dinning table, and ottoman versions as well. Thinking about going green with your furniture? The chair is made out of Hularo®, a polyethylene that enables complete residue-free recycling, on a powder-coated steel frame.

The steel frame is wrapped in Hularo® rope so the piece appears to be all one material. Talk about quality furniture! The powder-coated steel frame makes these pieces rustproof and the special Sunbrella fabric on the cushions make them virtually weather-proof and resistant to fading. These pieces will definitely have your neighbors talking.
