The iFreeze chair was inspired by icebergs - those giant ice blocks with sharp craggy edges floating in the ocean. The shape of the chair is asymmetrical especially when viewed from certain angles. The edges of the chair are not rounded at all but angled every which way just like icebergs. However the seat and the cushions have softer edges. The chair arm rests even lights up. Nice.
Thai designer, Jitrin Jintaprecha used a luxury fabric called Pasaya in soothing natural colors as the upholstery as well as the cushion material. ELLE Decoration Thailand picked the iFreeze as one of “2005 Hot One Hundred”. The iFreeze as an iceberg symbol is all the more relevant today as our world faces global warming issues with melting Arctic ice shelves and break-away icebergs.
