Plano is the name of this whimsical wall seating design developed and produced by Dutch designer, Egbert-Jan Trijnis Lam through his company Burojet.com. His collection of unusual seating is his version of “flat” furniture – so not IKEA! He describes his design as ART vs DESIGN which implies that he is trying to combine form with function.
Plano is actually a collection of wall paintings with integrated seats. The chairs and tables are hinged and can either be pushed into the wall to form part of the painting or let down and secured with hinged panels. This is a great space-saving design that also incorporates something pleasing to look at. The Plano designs range from an ornate sofa to more contemporary designs and colours. – Via
