This sort of concept piece has a long history.
In the UK, I remember seeing kitchen 'workstations'
in the early 1970s, designed as promotional set-pieces
for the the quango installed to improve the
market for electricity. Practicality is always
sacrificed to compactness, in these designs. 10-minutes
working a kitchen 'workstation' will show you that the
sink isn't deep enough; that there are too-few burners / rings;
that the fashionable (again...)stainless-steel finishes are
anything but stainless. Oh, by the way, open-plan kitchens
are a nightmare, too. The brave new worlds of the 60s / 70s
are best left in old design annuals. Very little of the stuff
is workable or comfortable. Trust me - I was there...

I would like the future kitchen to have a built in compost collector. One that has a fan that is water powered would be nice. Or just an old fashioned lever that you turn to mix it up. Maybe this compost could empty out into a pot where you are growing fresh herbs to use for cooking.

You read about this first on here :) Please spare me a thought when you get rich with my idea!
