This new residence in Kansas City’s Westside neighborhood was both designed and contracted by el dorado principal Jamie Darnell for his family and himself. Elegant and spare, it combines clean lines and durable materials ( concrete, conrrugated copper, glue-laminated timber, chain link fencing and ipe decking ) into a dynamic form that acknowledges the scale of the neighborhood and the energy of the Darnell family. The residence is extremely efficient and well lit and utilizes a Structural Insulated Panel System, which saved labor and material costs during construction, and has resulted in significant energy savings throughout the year and outside noise reduction.

Designing a kid’s bedroom is a very good thought as it will surely impress your child. Also, the emotional bondage between you and your kid will be amplified. When your kid steps into the bedroom, his senses will feel your love, thus making it a bedroom filled with fatherly love. Therefore, he would just love to spend his time in the bedroom. So, it’s a good idea to design the bedroom by yourself, albeit, you should be acquainted with some knowledge of the ways to design. Else, your efforts will go in vain. So, one should not be over confident and get himself acquainted with the skills required to design. So, here are some things which should be taken into consideration at the time of designing a bedroom for the kids.

Your kids are going to play and have fun in their bedroom. They also might do their homework and study in their room. Besides, they could also relax and take a chill pill. So, after all these eclectic variety of things they might do, a parent will be as confused as a child lost in a dark and evacuated park. So, firstly, get your creative mind into work and think about something which will be a blend of all the possibilities that your child will do.
After that, you should consider something which will take your kid to the right direction i.e. something which can be a beacon of determination to achieve something.
Here, you should make use of all the imaginative and creative ideas, but, the most significant thing here is although you may come across brilliant ideas, yet, it should serve as a reflection of your child’s personality.
Lighting is an indispensable feature that should be there in a child’s room. Without it, the room will be like a bicycle without its seat. Psychologically, lighting affects he child’s brain in a very positive way. It ignites flames of joy and also keeps them in a good mood. It is like oxygen for the child.

Interaction is a good way of knowing what exactly the kids want because many times, the thoughts of parents and kids fickle. If one actually wished to delight their kids, then he should interact and try to find out what the kid likes. Also, as each kid is different, they have different interests. So, keeping this in mind, try to find out from the kid about his interests.
Some cartoon characters or superheroes really inspire your kids. In fact, they can inspire your kid more than anyone else. So, it is always good to find out which cartoon character or super hero your kid likes so that you can just give your kid a grand surprise.
You can also paint the walls with colors that will just be enlightening for the kids. It should add a touch of whimsy.

Also, you can select themes from a lot of options, though, keep the interest of the kid in mind. Some of the options may be starry night, angels, rainbows, unicorns, baseball, underwater scenery, outer space, race cars, airplanes, trains, jungle motifs, dragons, wizards, dinosaurs, Disney characters etc. You can also try to decorate it with your child. It can take you back to your childhood days. Simultaneously, there will be a good father-son bonding.
Large decorative wicker baskets, plastic se-through containers, closets should be created as a matter of storage.
Keep window treatments as simple as possible i.e. shorter curtains are a good choice as they are safer. Long draperies should be avoided.

The Slacker Chair was designed by Frederik Olsson and exhibited at the 2008 Stockholm Furniture Fair. You don’t see a piece of furniture like this in any home, because this is not a normal chair, it looks more like a throne, and I think that is was designed for the gamnig fanatics, that spend to much time in the virtual world. “The Slacker” chair features intricately cut, solid wood arms and sitting in a throne like this you can feel like a real king. - Via - Yankodesign
