The Bed that will Save a Huge Amount of Space in any Bedroom

Designed by the studio of invention Décadrages and marketed under the brand name BedUP, the bed that falls from the ceiling is an innovation that will save 4 m² in your apartment, and for someone who lives in a small space .. 4 m² of space is pure gold. By day, the bed is stored on the ceiling, the under-surface becomes ceiling with the possibility of integrating lighting. At night, the bed can come down in the manner of an elevator and stops at the height previously requested, thus avoiding moving furniture that would have been placed underneath it. Now besides being functional, this bed has a clean design that is discreet and elegant.

Wow. I’d always have the unsettling feeling that one day that thing was going to crash down on me…

It says it costs from 2810 euros, installed. Since the dollar currently sucks against the euro, it would be considerably more, and there’s no indication that is is sold anywhere outside France.

Nice way to save space. I think cabin beds could be another solution.

This is nothing that innovative, I saw this in a 1952 movie, but it is very cute.

What a way to save space by turning any room into a sleep space. I like the manual handle to raise and lower the bed, but I would love to see a remote-controlled lift mechanism for the bed as well.

I love this. Even if space isn’t the issue. I *hate* making a bed. My whole bedroom can be spotless with the exception of an unmade bed. I would love to have this just so I could pile the covers and pillows in the middle and make it _all go away_ until needed the next night. Lovely.

It actually looks pretty cool even when stowed away – like a bed sandwich :-)

I am absolutely loving the space saving aspect. Perfect for those tiny city centre apartments where you pay a fortune for your square footage.
