Sustainable Luxury Living : Aura at Camelback

Sustainable living in the desert can be a bit of a challenge (swimming pools and air conditioning are a fact of life) but the residents of the new Aura Development in Phoenix will be able to enjoy green living and a nice bit of luxury. The Aura at Camelback will be a sustainable luxury-living development at 25th Street and Campbell Avenue. The project will be a sustainable luxury-living development of 36 three or four-story townhomes. Each home will have a private elevator and a two-car underground garage as well as air-conditioned underground storage and a rooftop garden. The project will be completely solar powered. The development will certified LEED Silver and the solar system will generate all the electricity needs for the unit. The Aura will feature six floor plans ranging from 2,469 to 3,147 square feet. Homes will start at $900,000 and be as expensive as $1.3 million and construction is expected to begin in May. – Via – Pangaya

After living in PHX for a few years, it’s refreshing to see sustainable living getting a foothold. Underground space sounds like an awesome idea for the desert, but use it exclusively for storage? Shouldn’t we all be living underground like ants under the Phoenician sun?

Neat, solar power, it’s about time. Will there be a recharging station in the garage for electric cars as well? I’m happy to hear that my neighborhood is still building up. Note: Light Rail is still under construction, but should be done by the time these townhouses are ready. With 2 cars in a garage, would you need it?

Green is here to stay and is spreading everywhere. There are many new developments in Santa Fe as well.
