The Polar Bear Shelf is a bookshelf that is shaped like a polar bear. I think that this is a really wired design for a piece of furniture, but some animal lovers might love this idea. The shelf is designed and manufactured by Ibride - a site that is cool but, difficult to navigate if you’re in a hurry. This shelf has big dimensions just like a polar bear and is big enough so you can put inside everytrhing you want : boobs, CD, DVD, any objects. The price for the polar bear shelf is £1871.22, quite expensive and you can purchase it from here.

This wall clock is designed by Greg Wolos and was the winning entry at the Furni - Show Us Your Skills Contest. As you can see from the picture below this wall clock attaches to the wall and the display shows the time so that you can read it when your head is on a pillow, and you are still sleepy. Viewed from the front, the clock’s aluminum casing is simple and blends nicely with the wall. Since the casing is fastened to the wood with machine screws and threaded inserts, a user could easily flip the led display and make this a table clock. Furni is now planning to put Emily wall clock into production for their upcoming collection and share the profits with the winner. - Via - Mocoloco

The Smart Faucet is designed to automatically control the temperature and water level in the bathtub. An interesting bath product that won the red dot award: design concept 2007. Smart Faucet is able to automatically control the temperature and water level in the bathtub. How you do that ? Preety simple with so much technology in this faucet. Just set the water temperature on the control panel which is located above the faucet, after that you have to put your hand under the ultrasonic sensor, to show the desired level of the water, and finally, set the level on the control panel and the faucet memorises the settings.

After setting the desired water level, the faucet will begin the water flow, which activates the ultrasonic sensor to automatically control the level of water in the bathtub. Once the pre-set level of water is reached, the faucet will automatically shut off the water supply, thereby avoiding any possibility of an overflow. A “buzzing sound” will indicate to the user that the bathtub is ready.

The Dharma Lounge is designed by Palette Industry, and is an interesting approach for a chair. The use of laser cutters in furniture design is starting to make these typographic efforts relatively easy to produce. The Lounge chair is cut to display the following saying: Stand, Forget, Breathe, Acknowledge & Observe. I’m pretty sure that this design will get some attention from the typography community.

This beautiful and smart kitchen design is made by Fevzi Karaman a designer from Turkey, Ankara who made the kitchen cupboard “silverline” which won a prize at a contest student. The colors of the kitchen pechues with a green apple that gives a sacred Deco touches to the kitchen. The modular furniture is very advanced with a work plan to be drawn into a table. This kitchen design is very clever, and when is not used as a kitchen it can be a sleek piece of furniture. I hope that one day I’ll see this kitchen design in practice.
