It's nice to see an article like this popping up in "My Neighborhood". I've been interested in architecture since I was young, and now that I'm an engineering student I can better appreciate the time, money and artistic talent that goes into make such beautiful structures. I like to search the web for new buildings, structures and architecture because it gives me a sort of inspiration to be innovative. I have seen many of the structures before, but a lot of them are new to me so thanks for posting this article! It was a great inspiration, and a nice break for me after a long compressible flow class this afternoon!

Great post. There are few things more beautiful than the joining of form and function on such a massive scale. People often take the genius required to create these buildings, from the sketch pad to the finished product, for granted. It is a long and arduous process that is nothing short than a miracle of human creativity and ingenuity.

As a builder, I have a special love for the beauty of structure, but I think anyone would be moved by the magnificence of these monoliths.
