Neil M. Denari Architects (NMDA) designed a series of pre-designed habitats for Useful + Agreeable. The Useful + Agreeable house includes innovative features like aerospace grade aluminum panels, solar power, rooftop patio, rain collection, flexible floorplans, and built-in furniture to accommodate its economical use of space and energy. This u+a pre-designed mini hi-rise is not only a tightly designed house that uses every square inch of space wisely, it also attempts to express this economy in its smooth exterior surface shape, a form of industrial design at an architectural scale. It looks like an aeroplane crashed in to a patio.
This looks like a cool idea, but I’m not sure about the aesthetics. If implemented in the right environment I think these would work well, but in a suburban neighborhood like the one in picture number 1 there would be a lot of complaints.
