Yes, green roofs are excellent, and exciting, but we have to be careful with them. It is not always ecologically appropriate to just cover a roof in turf grass. One still needs to look at the local ecology, and local appropriate plant pallette. Also in Australia where water is becoming a critical issue the over use of green roofs can cause more problems than it solves.
Look at Chicago’s green roof. After a few years the project is already deteriorating. Paint your roof green and leave your unnatural science expirments in school.
