They look great but I dont think they would pass any inspection process. They are a bit steap and the treads are too shallow, at least to pass here. Well on second look they might meet the criteria but I wouldnt want to try to convince the leary building inspector that they do. I don't see why they'd be any harder to climb than regular steps. I don't put each foot directly in front of the other so I think this would be pretty natural. Perfect for a small apartment, beach house, or condo. I love them.
