My name is Martijn Smit, I’m 22 year old and a first year student at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands) in Industrial Design. I like to keep being updated on new, inspiring designs and your site is one out of my list that I keep revisiting ever since I encountered it. I’m not sure whether I’ll end up focusing on furniture/interior-design (our faculty focuses more on ambient intelligence) but at least I’ll have seen many creative expressions on this site, that help me determine my own style/direction.

I’m an entrepreneur from the United States – Ohio, and have a blog http://theassistant.wordpress.com/ called Decorating Diva’s Dish. I was a commericial designer for over 18 years and did residential design on the side with a friend from grade school. We thought there had to be a better way to shop for a project than carrying a plastic bag of samples and invented the Decorating Assistant. In a nutshell, it has a magnetic surface and furniture pieces for planning room arrangements and storage for paint chips, receipts, samples, business cards and more. It’s great for shopping.

Hi, I am a senior communication design student at Yildiz Technical University Faculty of Arts and Design in Istanbul, Turkey. Also I work as a new media designer, making websites, motion etc. I am deeply interested in industrial design and think to go on a master program after I graduate from communication design this year.
For those gadgets and design, my opinion is it is not about owning them, it is the inspiration and freshness it gives to the mind.
