Now that’s called luxury and is a perfect post for our Dream Homes section. Dubai’s Damac Properties is targeting the world’s super-rich with a collection of apartments priced at up to $10 million. The exclusive residences will each occupy an entire floor in two of Damac’s landmark skyscrapers: Ocean Heights in Dubai Marina and Lotus Heights in Business Bay. I dont care how long you claim to be stacking bills. This is not the movies, a million in $100 wont fit in a suite case. And if you are claiming to have $10,000,000 in bills, you must have a room just to hold them.

You might consider a bank, it is a little safer than having a few hundred pounds of cash piled in your home.

Sorry to say, I have seen, in a recent (legal) business transaction 2 million dollars in 100 dollar bills in an average sized suitcase. Each stack of bills, a finger high, was over 25.000 dollars. Two stacks high, neat piles.

10 million for an apartment is just crazy. Myself, I’d rather have some land under my feet for that price. Like maybe a few thousand acres, of course with a few lakes, my own race track, and a 50 room mansion with a built in pool. Who is this NUT CASE who calls himself Mohhamed ? What a joke….

They should pay ME instead – and alot – to do so. So I’ll be able to keep my children in another country – away from jihad, paranjahs (?) veils and other medieval islamic attributes.

    BTW – $1million in $100 bills = 18 pounds (8kg).
    $10m = 80kg = 180 pounds of $100 bills.

Chill out you nerds. Hey wasn’t there a strange property law in Dubai that made it so you basically own a property for a certain number of years (99 if I remeber correctly) and then the government has the option to just take it back if they feel like it ? I seem to remember there was some debate about that when they started selling palm island…

With that kind of money one would think that buying an actual luxury villa – like Al Barari – would be a better option. But apparently some people just love apartments. God forbid the kind of annual “service charges” they will be paying though – more than most people’s rent.

I’d rather be shot in the face than live in Dubai.

The apartments sound neat though — and a decent value.

$10 mil doesn’t get you anywhere near that much condo in NYC.

Though, $10 mil in Iowa would buy you the largest mansion in the state.

And I’d much rather live in Iowa than India.

Yeah your prob right about this one, but the story says up to 10million, the bottom ones are prob smaller and much cheaper because of the elevator shafts taking up the space.

    I live in Dubai.

Other places I’ve lived: Tokyo, New York, Milan.

    Good things about Dubai:
-relatively clean (but not the air)
    -lots of jobs, work, money

    Bad things about Dubai:
    -tons of traffic
-construction everywhere. think about all the buildings you hear about, none of them are done. They are all being worked on at the same time. This city is not done.
-the people are prententious. money can buy you a lot but it can’t buy you culture, humanity, or community.

bottom line: you can find everything they have in Dubai in other major cities but with even more exclusive selections, a friendlier community, a real art/design/music scene, etc.

a large portion of the tremendous amount of money they have is put into promoting the city.. unfortunately the locals fall for it too.

Some of you are so fucking ignorant. Comments such as “Does it come with your own personal suicide bomber?”, “And I’d much rather live in Iowa than India.” and “I’d rather be shot in the face than live in Dubai.” Last time I checked, America invaded Iraq, and terorism has been stereotyped to all muslims because of a few religous extremists. If you have never been to dubai, then I would stop making stupid ass comments.

there are only 8 apartments that are for 1million and they are from the 67th to the 75th floor so only 8 elevators are needed for those apartments and lets say 4 elevators are used for the other apartments in the building.
as you can see it is very possible to have 12 elevators in one building esbecially if this building has 75 floors

    1) Just look this as a way to spend your money if you have the money to waste on it. People who can afford this won’t complain about the extra charges etc etc etc. I have an odd feeling that they knew that when posting the article most people reading would not plan on buying it.

    2) Dubai is beautiful and amazing, its a lot better than the trailer parks in the US. But you do have to have the money for it. And most people don’t.

    3) You don’t have to be veiled up in Dubai, nor do you have to be veiled up in most countries in the Middle East. Hell in Lebanon they make the United States seem prudish. Dubai is just a bit classier and has a large international community. You’d be amazed at what you don’t get from the news when you go over there.

    4) Insulting the women of another culture is pretty weak. Theres a lot of people in this country we shouldn’t exactly be proud of.

“Last time I checked, America invaded Iraq…” That’s soooo pertinent to this discussion about Dubai isn’t it? Why don’t you stick to exposing stereotypes rather than trying to inseminate political banter into this conversation. Yes, there are a lot of ignorant Americans (“I don’t want to live in India,”) but there is an abundance of ignorance everywhere.

I’m moving to Dubai soon. I like it best because people have no human rights there, especially women. I’m going to buy a woman, and chain her to a wall with a dog collar in my $10 million apartment. Then invite my Arab friends over to abuse her and have sex with her.

Anything and everything is for sale there. Dubai is great.
